Amazon Kindle is not Working on Windows 10 PC?

If you are into reading e-books, then you must be well aware of Amazon Kindle as it is the most popular device in this category. Amazon has come out as a big platform with Kindle.

However, things aren't as perfect as they may seem. The kindle hardware and app seem to have some issues on Windows 10. In case Amazon Kindle isn't working on Windows 10, then below-mentioned are some of the solutions that you can apply to fix your problem.

Methods to Fix Amazon Kindle not Working on Windows 10 Problem

As a kindle user, you would like to connect your Kindle device to a Windows PC. The connection usually works fine but sometimes it creates some trouble. Below are some things that you can try out to fix your problem.

1) Install Kindle Driver

Plug and Play is indeed a significant feature of Windows 10. However, not every device can support it right away. The use of Kindle requires the installation of the right driver on your system.

You can easily install the kindle driver by right-clicking on the Start button. After that, choose Device Manager from the list that opens up before you. Then, you can expand the section, which says Portable Devices. There, you will see the name Kindle.

Now, go to the device and right-click on it for updating the driver software. After that, choose the option of browsing my PC for driver software. After that, select the option of "Let me pick a list of device drivers on my PC". Now select, show compatible hardware. After that, select MTP USB Device and then select Next. Then, you need to follow the instructions to run the driver.

2) Use Some Other USB Port

Many PCs have more than one USB port. Hence, if connecting the kindle to one USB port doesn't work, then try using another port. However, you need to keep one thing in mind that the USB ports end up failing with time because of their daily usage. The ports may not also work if your PC got damaged from the USB side.

You can also try using some other USB cable but prior to going for that, you must check that the wire that you are currently using is working with other devices or not. In case the cable is working with other devices, then the wire is working fine and the fault lies elsewhere.

3) Try Connecting Your Kindle to a Different Computer

There is a chance that the software on your PC is not working properly. You can easily fix this problem by connecting your Kindle to another PC and check if it's working or not. If your device doesn't work with another PC, then that means something else is leading to this problem.

4) Perform a Reset

If your kindle is facing hardware problems and you have tried every other solution but it didn't bring in any positive results, then you are only left with the last resort of performing a hard reset.

This will bring your kindle device to factory default settings. For restarting Kindle all you need to do is to press the Power button and then hold it till it restarts automatically. This will surely fix your problem.
