Sometimes the problem comes because the device is not connected to the plug. Make sure to follow these steps if you can’t connect to the plug.
There is a problem with the Power Cord-
If the power cord is damaged or faulty then it may cause a problem in Echo Dot not responding. So try to fix the problem.
If your Echo Dot not responding then probably that it is not placed in the right place. Verify if the Echo Dot is located in a proper place which is not loud.
Confirm that your Echo has power and internet access.
This is a simple, basic troubleshooting step, but it's worth it to make sure. A disconnected Echo or internet failure might be the reason Alexa's ignoring you. If you are facing WiFi issues or problems in the connection then here is what you need to do.
Unable to Find the Smart Devices
If the Echo Dot not responding or unable to find the smart device then you need to follow some steps to fix the issue. You can add a new device by following these steps:
Alexa Failed to Find the Smart-Home Devices. If you want to add smart home devices to your Alexa speaker easily check and make sure that the device you want to add is supported. For adding a new device directly open the Alexa app browse to smart home and click on discover devices in your devices section.
If your devices are not supported and do not have the skills. Alexa provides the official IFTTT channel and combines with yonomi, these have an extensive list of supported smart devices.
There are two ways if you have added your devices but Alexa cannot seem to connect to them.
If these steps do not fix the issue of Echo Dot not responding then restart the speaker and removing the device and adding it.
Step 1: Always use the added power adapter. If you use the other adapters, they may not provide enough for the Echo Dot to turn on and work properly.
Step 2: Press on the action button to see if the echo dot responds to your request.
Step 3: When you connect your echo dot with a speaker by using Bluetooth or audio cable, make clear that your echo dot is at least three feet aside from the speaker.
Step 4: Make sure that your device is at least 20cm away from walls or another project.
Step 5: Make sure that there is no background when you speak.
