How to Fix Samsung Dryer Not Heating Problem?

Are you experiencing the Samsung dryer not heating problem? If yes, then you are not alone in this as a lot of people face this problem. If your Samsung dryer is not working, then the first thing that you need to do is to check the air vent. If you find that your air vent is clean, then you must check the gas coils and thermal fuse. In case these are not working, then the system won't heat up.

Additionally, you may face a Samsung heater not heating up the problem because of some other reasons. Here, we have discussed some issues that can lead to this issue.

1) Check your Air Vent Line

Inadequate heating can happen because of a blocked air vent. A vent system is required for a proper outflow and inflow of air. In case the vents are blocked because of the overfilling of the dryer or accumulation of particles, then the heating system will fail to work. In case the dryer is hot but the clothes are not drying up, then that may be happening because the vent is clogged.

To resolve this issue, you need to disconnect the air vent and check if any particles are stuck inside. Wash them with a warm soapy solution and allow it to dry before you install it again. Additionally, you can clean the lint filter to avoid clogging the air vent.

2) Check the Thermal Cut-off Fuse

This is a safety device added to Samsung dryers. It protects the system from catching fire. If you are using new dryers and the temperature goes above the normal level, then the fuse will blow up. If this is the case of your dryer, then you won't be able to operate it until you replace the fuse.

  • Disconnect the dryer from the source
  • Unassemble the side panels and the top
  • Locate the fuse in the blower housing
  • Use a multimeter for checking a fuse.

Please make sure that the fuse has an intact electrical path. In case it does not have such a path, then replace the fuse.

3) Check the Voltage of Your Samsung Dryer

In case your dryer is not heating up properly, then that means it is not getting enough power. In order to make your Samsung dryer work properly, You require 2 parts of 120V, it means you require 250 volts in total.

If you live in a house that has faulty wiring or if there is some problem with the grid, then that means you are not getting enough power. In such cases, heating elements don't work properly.

4) Check Whether Your Lgniter is Working or Not

In case the above-mentioned methods are not working out for you, then you must go ahead with the next. Samsung makes gas-powered as well as electric-powered dryers. In case you have invested in the latter and it fails to work, then you must check the igniter as well as the gas valve solenoid.

If you are using an electric dryer, then you must skip this step. If you wish to know whether the igniter is still working, then you just need to press the power button and check whether the ignite is still working or not.

In case it does not glow, then that means there is some issue with the igniter and this is stopping the system from heating up. If that is the case, then you require some professional assistance.

5) Check Your Flame Sensor

Another important thing in a Samsung dryer is the flame sensor. This sensor detects where the hot dryer is. In case the sensor fails to work, then the dryer won't heat up. To check the sensor, below are the steps you need to follow.

  • Disconnect the dryer from the source
  • Remove the side panel and the top
  • Locate the sensor close to the blower housing
  • Take a multimeter to check the sensor.

Please make sure that your sensor has a closed electrical path. In case it does not have one, then replace the sensor.

6) Your Control Board Heater has Failed

The last thing that you need to take care of is your control board. In case you didn't see the issue yet, then that means the control board of the system has failed. This cannot be checked with a multimeter. To fix this problem, you are required to contact Samsung experts.

So, this is how you can fix the problem of the Samsung dryer not heating.
