How to Setup Amazon Echo Device to Mobile Hotspot?

Even the users who have Echo unit in the car can use the speaker just by turning on hotspot on their smartphone. This functionality was not available earlier but it is available now.

How to Fix the Problem of Echo not Connecting to Hotspot?

There is a chance that the hotspot option may not appear at first. Therefore, it is recommended to set up Echo on a wireless network first and then try connecting it to the hotspot. 

Additionally, you need to have a mobile data on your mobile device to be able to connect the hotspot to your Echo speaker. Another thing that you need to make sure is that the Alexa app is updated. 

How to Connect Your Echo Device to the Hotspot?

After meeting up with all the necessary requirements above, the next thing that you need to do is to carry out the steps to set up hotspot on Echo. 

Step 1: Connect your Echo device and ensure that your internet is working. 

Step 2: Launch the settings of hotspot on your smartphone and enter the name of the hotspot and its password. 

Step 3: Now in the third step. launch the Alexa app on your smartohone and tap the option of devices that is given at the end. 

Step 4: Enter Alexa and Echo after entering the name of your device. 

Step 5: Tap on the option of Change that is given right beside the Wi-Fi Network. 

Step 6: The app will then take you to the setup page of Echo. Select the option of continue. Here we will go with the assumption that the device has already been setup. So, you will not see the orange light on the screen. Hence, you will have to tap on the option of Don't see the orange ring light. 

Step 7: After that, in the next step, hold the button of action on your Echo device for the next 10 seconds and wait for the orange light to appear. Then, tap on Continue. Within a few moments Alexa will make an announcement that it is in the mode of setup. 

Step 8: Then, you will be taken to the page where you will be aske to connect to Echo manually. Now, follow the instructions appeaing on the screen and go to the Wi-Fi settings on your smartphone and connect to the Amazon network. 

After a few seconds, you will receive a notification stating that your wireless network has no internet. Tap on that option and then tap on the Yes that will appear after it to remain connected. You have to be very careful here as you may experience some issue in this step. 

Step 9: After that, go back to the Alexa application and then select the option of Continue. 

Step 10: The app will further take you to the Wi-Fi screen. Go down and tap on the option of use this device as a hotspot. 

Step 11: After that, put in the details of hotspot, which you saved in the second step and then select the option of Connect. After that, Alexa will mention that it is ready to connect. Then, you will be asked to update the app. To update the app, you need to do to the app store. 

Step 12: After that, turn on the hotspot on your smartphone. After that, Alexa will intimate you that it is trying to connect. Remain on the sttings page until you get the confirmation that the connection has been established. 

Step 13: Now, go back to Alexa app to finish the setup process. Now, select continue to complete the process.
