Lights Turned Off: If the lights are turned off, then that means your Echo device is turned on and is waiting for you to speak the wake word. When you talk to Alexa, you will observe different tones of blue as well as white.
Echo Dot Solid Blue Ring: The Echo ring will turn solid blue when you manually wake Alexa or speak the wake word. The light will be pointed in the direction of the person who is speaking.
Amazon Echo Purple Ring Flash: If you see a solid blue ring light with a purple flash, then it means that you have activated Do Not Disturb.
Echo Dot Solid Orange Light Ring: This light indicates that your device is getting connected to the network.
Echo Dot Solid Red Ring: If the light turns solid red, then it means that the mic has been turned off and Alexa cannot listen to the voice commmands that you are making.
Alternate Cyan and Blue: This light appears when Alexa gives response to a query or command. The percentage of volume will be displayed white in color when you will turn on Amazon Echo manually. Press the Up and Down volume button on second generation Echo Dot.
Echo Dot Pulsing violet: This light indicates that there is an issue while setting up the Wi-Fi.
Echo Dot Spinning white light: In case the white light spinning continuously, then it means that Alexa guard is on Away mode.
Echo Dot Pulsing Green light: If you see a pulsing green light, then it means that you are getting a call from someone.
Echo Dot Pulsing yellow light: In case you see a yellow pulsing light, then it means that there are unread messages in your inbox. You can ask Alexa to read your messages by giving a command to her to “play my messages”. You can also say, “Check my notifications” to get more details.
A solid red band: If you see a solid red band, then it means that either your camera is turned off or mic is turned off. After some time, the light will turn off and you will see the camera off symbol in your display’s upper right hand corner.
An orange band: it means that your Echo device is displaying connectivity problems.
A violet band: If you see a violet band, then it means that your device is in Do Not Disturb mode. A few seconds later, the lights will get turned off and you will see a cresent moon on the display’s upper right hand corner.
